Get Out the Shears

Ben got a haircut the other day, but we thought he needed a touch-up for some spots they missed. Ben was so funny - he really didn't know WHAT to think!  Daddy did a good job, though :)

Big Boy Bed (sort of)

For almost five years, Ben has been happy as a clam in his crib.  He has never tried to climb out, never said he was cramped or uncomfortable or anything.  Since he will be in kindergarten soon, though, we decided it was time for the next step:  no rail on the front!  Mark took off the front of the crib a few nights ago, and Ben just kept giggling looking at it!  He is such a sweet boy; we told him when he wakes up in the morning, he needs to wait until his clock reads 7:00 (or as Ben says, "seven zero zero"), and then he can get up and come in our room, or go downstairs and play.  And he does just that!  So proud of our big boy!

Cute pictures from Vacation Bible School last week...Ben and Anna had so much fun.  Ben LOVED the workshop/gears/robots theme.  It was right up his alley!

Keeping Busy

Our latest summer project was tie-dyeing a t-shirt.  They picked their colors and after I prepped the shirt, they decorated it.  I think they turned out GREAT!

Over the weekend, we went their favorite park, Warrior's Path.

Then a nice visit with great-grandmother Nana while we were in Kingsport!

Fun Times at the Pool!

So glad these two have a fun daddy to play with in the pool :)

These Kids Should Sleep Well Tonight!

After swim lessons yesterday, we stopped by the Farmer's Market for a fun breakfast.  They have the biggest, most delicious donuts you have ever seen.  They are at least twice the size of a Krispy Kreme! Check out Anna chowing down, ha ha!

The kids had a fun time looking at all the different fruits and vegetables, and we got some peaches to take home that turned out to be GREAT!

We spent the rest of the day swinging on the neighbor's tree swing, shopping at the mall, and playing with their new bubble machine.  Oh, and Ben's favorite thing to do: " Brinner " - having breakfast for dinner. (And mine, too...easy, and never any complaints about pancakes and eggs for dinner!)  What a nice day!  :)

Picnic at the Park

After swimming lessons today, we went home and packed a little picnic to take to the park.  

Ben tried to stay under the big swing set in the shade...it was HOT!  He played "Mimi's song" on the drums.

Whew! It must be time to head home!

Summer Fun

We had such a fun, busy day today! All before 9:30, we had swimming lessons, a breakfast picnic, went through the car wash (always a hit with Ben and Anna!), and were in our seats at the theater waiting for the movie to start.

After coming home to take naps, we went to the grocery store and finished up the day with a visit to the pool and leftover spaghetti. We should all sleep well tonight!

Big Day for Anna

Anna went to Princess Camp today! It was a big deal because this is the first time she's ever gone anywhere without mommy that Ben wasn't there with her, too.
